Well you need to have an income.
You should try to have an income of around 900 dollars in your pocket at the end of the month if your going halfers on the bills.
The trick with paying the rent/bills is not keeping enough money “saving” to pay them, it’s Paying them FIRST.
Don’t buy new clothes, rent a movie or even get groceries until your rent and major bills have been paid at the beginning of the month.
Create a budget, what are your fixed expenses ie Rent, Electric, car payment….then what are your variables, groceries, entertainment etc
also always, always , always over budget, expect to spend more on groceries than you might, round up you bills to the nearest 10 dollar mark. It makes you feel like you have less money, so by the end of the month you actually have more left than you thought.
Its hard at first. It was for me. But I would stay at home is long as you can, milk it for all its worth.
Always put your rent away first. You don’t want to worry about that. Make sure you have next months’ rent in the middle of this month put away.
Get a second job just for paying the rent. Somthing part time. That’s what I did.
It is a buyers market. Look at all the option and relevant data. You have been paired up for three years, maybe this is the life choice that you want.
If it isn’t , then rent and keep an ‘out’.
If you two love one another, maybe is time to be realistic, look for a place to buy and make it your home.
A manufactured home will cost $418 a month. (that is a trailer) . But manufactured homes are getting and seem to be more efficient than a 30 year old apartment or house.
If the price of a house is 100k, and rent is 600 per month, that does not make fiscal sense.
Get married and recieve some tax breaks, as well as have a great life.
