SURVEY : Do you & the members of your household take the essential & necessary steps towards saving energy?

I just got to thinking about it and was wondering how many people here did the little things (that count) in order to save energy. Things such as switching off your geyser during the night when asleep and during the day when at work, school, etc, (when they are relatively not been utilised) and removing cell-phone chargers from plugs when not in use, and the many other things that could and should be done?

If you are among the people who do so, please list the good habits you exercise each day :)
Okay ‘weliveonearth’. How about starting to do those things you’ve been neglecting to do? It wouldn’t hurt at all would it? And perhaps you could learn to get over your whole “fear of the dark thing”? .. Anythings possible!

  1. Off the switch of electrical appliances (eg. television, computers) when not in use
Auto-turn off for electrical appliances (just in case we forget to switch it off)

We got energy saving light bulbs but thats about it.

  3. ok i will tell ppl here to do so

  4. We wash at 30 degrees, never above. We try our best to remember to switch off the light everytime we leave a room. We have energy saving lightbulbs in place (even though they take far too long to get to the stage of producing enough light to see by). We switch off everything at the switch when we’re finished with it (leaving on standby uses almost as much energy as leaving the machine on) And we use all the eco washing powder and washing up liquid etc, I think we’re doing pretty well x

Energy saving bulbs, i don’t have anymore lights on than necessary, all Cd/DVD players turned off at the wall and just recently i have bought myself a plug in LED light for my computer room, these lights use very little electricity and are the way of the future as far as lights go, and the bulbs in the one i have will last 4 years at least of continuous use.

Yes I do switch off the lights at night & I unplug unnecessary plugs & cell phone charges, I always forget to switch off the geyser but hopefully tonight I will remember. The rest of the lazy people in my home do nothing but complain about anything they can suck out of their thumbs.
